If you prefer your first date to be jam-packed with adventure, then The Crystal Maze LIVE Experience is bound to tick all your boxes. Situated at Byrom Street, City Centre, this immersive real-life version of The Crystal Maze TV show lets you move through different zones, completing several challenges to win "crystals" that translate into time/resources in the final challenge, the Crystal Dome.

You typically form a team of eight, guided by a live host known as the "Maze Master", who helps coordinate your team around the four themed zones, named Medieval, Industrial, Aztec, and Futuristic.

Prices range from £49 for the classic maze experience to £65 for those who want to enjoy go-karting or the Pac-Man immersive adventure, where you move through a life-size maze and collect "power pellets/docs".

Museum of Illusions

If we've wet your appetite for quirky, action-packed date nights, then the Museum of Illusions will not disappoint. This optical-exhibit museum offers over 60 interactive, illusion rooms and installations. Enjoy the museum's signature exhibits, such as the Walk-in Kaleidoscope, Vortex Tunnel, and Infinity Room.

Furthermore, visitors will be treated to custom-made installations that celebrate Manchester's unique culture and heritage.  Examples include The Reversed Room, an interactive, tram-inspired illusion; The Following Eyes Illusion, where a famous Manchester persona can't get their eyes off of guests; and The Building Illusion, where visitors can appear to hang from an iconic Manchester building. Based at Lower Byrom Street, and open seven days a week from 5.00 pm to 10.00 pm, prices start from £35 for over an hour and a half of drive time. It's just you, your kart, and the virtual tracks, oh, and your date, of course!

Urban Playground

Urban Playground is an immersive challenge game experience inspired by the TV show "The Cube", where players compete in a series of timed, skill-based challenges in mini-teams. With 12 individual CUBES, each home to one of the iconic games, THE CUBE at Urban Playground will push you mentally and physically across seven different challenges. There's also a tech-infused mini-golf course with nine or eighteen holes, featuring innovative scoring, animations, and themed holes.

Open from Monday to Friday 12.00 pm till 9.00 pm, and on Saturday from 11.00 am to 11.00 pm, and on Sunday from 11.30 am till 7.00 pm. Prices start at £52.90 for the cube and £28.90 for the golfing experience. Also enjoy a bar, food, and plenty of drink options.
