Chill in Fordham Park

After a busy week at work, there's nothing more enjoyable than taking a long, relaxing walk in your local park. Fordham Park. Officially opening in 1975, and named after the last Mayor of Deptford, Charles Frank Fordham, it is conveniently located between two schools, Childeric Primary School and Deptford Green Secondary School.

Visit the Cutty Sark

This area of London is steeped in rich maritime history. A stone's throw away from New Cross at King William Walk, Greenwich, is the home of the Cutty Sark.

Visit the National Maritime Museum

The National Maritime Museum, situated at Romney Road, Greenwich, SE10 9NF, is one of the world's largest museums dedicated to the sea, ships, and Britain's maritime past. 

Expect Tudor warships, cannons, modern vessels, weapons, and items from the Battle of Trafalgar. Further exhibits explore Captain Cook and Sir Francis Drake, as well as Britain's global trade of importing and exporting tea, sugar, spices, and textiles.

Pay a visit to the Queen's House and Greenwich Park

Nestled within Greenwich Park, the Queen's House was once a royal residence commissioned by Anne of Denmark, wife of King James 1st, as a peaceful retreat in 1616. Now the property serves as an art gallery. Upon entry, marvel at the Great Hall, Tulip Stairs, and the Bridge Room and Colonnades, which preserve the original symmetry and layout.

Greenwich Park, sits right next to the Queen's House. It provides magnificent hilltop views, lush gardens, historic treasures, and lots of family-friendly playgrounds. Additionally, marvel at flower gardens, the bandstand, boating lakes, and plenty of wildlife.

The Rose pub & kitchen is situated directly opposite New Cross Gate Station. It features multiple levels, a ground floor, a bar, upstairs seating, and a function room. The interior boasts a rustic charm, and their beer garden is heated, perfect for visits all year round.
